What affiliate marketing is not about…?
Creating and selling your own product:
The creation of products is a very different business model in comparison to being an affiliate. Owning your products requires more work such as investing your time and money into both creation of the entire business structure around the product and marketing model used to cause buzz and awareness. This is not very easy nor is it hard to do but what makes the business of product creation much profitable are the marriage between affiliate marketing and a good product waiting to be found by targeted prospects driven by affiliate marketers.
The simple fact is by opinion of course is, being an affiliate is much more rewarding and easier than being the product owner (which is termed, merchant) because the work load is far less strenuous to deal with. As an affiliate, the only concern lies with getting traffic to merchant sites and being accredited for their efforts that is it. Usually affiliates themselves later on in the internet marketing field create their own products after learning all that is needed thus giving them the proper business structure and understanding within the internet marketing world of online promotions.
Becoming a spammer:
In respect of the term “internet” coupled with “marketing” shouts, SPAM to some people online. This is not entirely true but looking back you can remember the days when pop up ads used to slow down your hard drive causing a lot of annoyance. The sad part is even today you will find some strange name in your Inbox trying to sell you things you never even opt in for to receive as a subscriber, however it is illegal to trade emails to other businesses for profits without the subscriber’s permission.
As for affiliate marketing on a wider scale it is a softer approach to selling rather than direct promoting in your sites visitors face. Spammer marketing is very annoying on a larger scale affiliate marketing is quite discreet without the over advertising and annoying pop ups trying sell you things that is not even within the spectrum of your interest. Affiliate marketing is a very profitable business model which helps fund big authority sites like forums, article directories, wiki how and many other sites out on the net. One of the great ways of affiliate marketing is it allow review sites to mediate trust between the merchant site and the prospect. Affiliate marketing is like bridging the gap between two worlds of commerce.
In the world of affiliate marketing you get spammers who try to cheat by using short cuts to get their results and you have smart and hard working marketers who do things the right way to build a lasting business that posses the long breath of continuity rather than a quick fix profits that dies down business like spamming. Many honest hard working affiliate marketers cleverly place their affiliate offers on their sites without annoying their visitors in fact they target their visitors interest and place the products in front with valuable content backing the offer of what is being promoted. Unlike spammers who use black hat tactics and over advertising causing disturbance of online visitors to sites this is short lived by the spamming marketer. Many sites do not condone spamming which mean more trust and valuable content being shared without the worry of bombarded with pop ups and unwanted emails.
